Where Does Geist Shop? Find Out What Gems You Can Uncover at Local Boutiques, Retail Stores

Delaney's Whether it’s the price of gas or the growing selection of boutique shops, Geist residents have good reason to shop closer to home. But do they? Or do they still jump in the car, head out of the neighborhood and into the nearest shopping mall?

Well, we asked a number of residents recently where they shop and why. Here are the interesting results: Geist residents enjoy the area boutiques and gift shops, and they like the new 950,000-square-foot open-air Hamilton Town Center…when they remember it is here!

When it comes to boutiques, Delaney’s (11715 Fox Road in Geist, with two other locations in Hamilton County) — “your spot for fashion and gifts”—gets a lot of votes for exactly that….fashion and gifts! Shoppers chose Delaney’s for fun clothing, accessories, painted glassware and home décor items.

Another top pick among boutiques is Yaprak Design Studio and Boutique (11230 Fall Creek Road), for a special outfit and handmade jewelry (starting at around $30). Not only did Geist shoppers pick Yaprak, but the boutique also recently won the “Best Women’s Boutique” from WRTV’s Indiana’s Best Local Business contest!

Gallery 116 (8597 E. 116th) picked up some votes for a place to find artsy, hand made, one-of-a-kind gifts. The Bag Lady Boutique (corner of Brooks School and Fall Creek Road) received a thumbs-up for some good prices. The “real sizes with real prices” boutique offers a variety of sizes with an average price range around $19-$35.

A new addition to the boutique scene is McCordsville’s Urban Loft, which offers home decor, gifts for all ages, kitchen accessories, high-end food and dessert items, and of course, women’s clothing and accessories. Urban Loft is located just west of the Mt. Comfort Road/Pendleton Pike intersection in McCordsville.

Some other popular area boutiques for a special outfit and accessories include:
Escapade Boutique (11660 Commercial Drive), Cat Walk Boutique (12676 E 116th St.), Zoey’s (8974 E 96th Street) and L Boutique (11760 Olio Rd).

MJ Layne—which opened last year at Olio Rd and 116th Street—is a boutique with an emphasis on home décor, but they do have gifts and clothing as well.

San Dee’s boutique (11915 Pendleton Pike) in the Oaklandon Commons shopping area specializes in urban clothing, and nearby Petry’s Place got a nod for the best selection of Webkinz!

Many shoppers said they have to remind themselves that Hamilton Town Center is nearby, but after a vist or two, it is hard to forget! Several said they had hoped for Nordstrom to come to Hamilton Town Center, but they do enjoy Stein Mart and the large JC Penney with the full-service Sephora beauty boutique.

White House/Black Market When asked where they would go to find a “little black dress,” shoppers were quick to name the White House/Black Market store at Hamilton Town Center.

For back-to-school shopping, many said they still make the annual trek to Target and Kohl’s for clothes and supplies. But, the teens and tweens love American Eagle and Aeropostale at Hamilton Town Center and would vote to add Hollister, as well. With school back in session and sporting events underway, parents and kids alike are excited about having Dick’s sporting goods close by, too!

What else does the Geist area need? Several mentioned a Trader Joe’s, more coffee houses with live music, and how about a men’s boutique?
That’s right …there’s Men’s Wearhouse and Bachrach at Hamilton Town Center, but not much around that you could say is a boutique for men. Great idea!
