Healthies Opens Fishers Location
Healthies, a smoothie and juice bar, has opened a new location in Fishers.
The opening is the culmination of Healthies Owner Garrett Dewalds personal journey toward improved health, and his desire to help others.
Dewald, who says he used to drink a two-liter bottle of Mountain Dew every day, decided to start improving his health when he was about 20 years old.
Thats when I started getting real serious with my health, he says. I started getting more into eating the right things, supplements and working out.
Dewald, 26, says he initially struggled to stay consistent with any type of healthy routine, but that changed when his sister introduced him to meal-replacement shakes like the ones offered at Healthies.
With exercise and diet, sticking to it is the part that matters, Dewald says. I think that just having something that tasted good helped me and my sister a lot.
Healthies opened in June of 2019 and Dewald says the decision to expand to Fishers was easy.
We knew that the Fishers area was fairly health conscious, he says. Lots of parks, lots of sidewalks – its just obvious that the city invests in making things easier for the citizens to be healthy. We thought that would be a good fit for us. We love the neighborhoods. We love the community.
The community, according to Dewald, loves Healthies back. He credits the positive community response to superior customer service.
Product aside, regardless of what we sell, we have a mission and we want to provide an excellent, above-and-beyond customer experience that is unique.
Dewald says the positive response from Fishers residents is also due to the Healthies menu, which includes tasty and effective products that will fill customers up without expanding their waistline.
People are just really excited that they can tell from drinking our drinks that theyre getting results, he says. We have some regulars that have lost weight from coming in a couple times a week. We have customers that come in every single day that have noticed improved results with either their weight or their energy levels. Were just giving them better options that taste good. Theyve been really excited about that.
Dewald is quick to point out that Healthies is more than the average smoothie shop.
We do meal-replacement shakes, he says. No one else really does it except for us – meal-replacement shakes that have all the vitamins, fiber, protein and things that make you feel full.
The beverages on the menu all contain 300 calories or fewer, with 24 grams of protein and low levels of fat and sugar. Healthies also offers Energy Bombs, which Dewald says are sugar-free, healthy energy drinks that boost metabolism, concentration and focus without the crashes or jittery feelings that can result from many other energy drinks.
