Randy Blevins, Founder of Think Tank Marketing, was a theater major in school, with a passion for the arts. He interned at the Actors Theatre of Louisville in 1996 and loved everything about it. Though he adored performing, he decided he wasnt cut out for the performers lifestyle, which often requires considerable travel. Though he loved to dream, he craved a bit more stability.
I wanted to have a home and a dog, Blevins says with a chuckle.
He remained in theater for a number of years, learning how to run a business from the nonprofit perspective and serving as an art director for the Broadway series. When the recession came in 2009 he was laid off, and he then entered an executive MBA program where he befriended many CEOs.
I learned a lot from them, says Blevins, who launched Think Tank Marketing, a Louisville-based marketing and advertising agency advertising on Google.
This was back in 2011, and Blevins recognized that social media was becoming a tool that business owners can use to get people to visit their stores to purchase products and services.
We work with companies who have a story to be told, Blevins says. We help determine what that story is, and then come up with the best mix of marketing and advertising channels, like those presented by Hot Local Spot, to tell that story and achieve their business goals.
Think Tank Marketing is rooted in social media because it is inherently set up for storytelling.
All the things we do can feed into those social media tools, says Blevins, noting that every clients marketing mix is different. We make sure we are tracking the results we want to achieve, and thats not necessarily sales for every client. Sometimes its brand awareness or relationship building.
When COVID-19 hit, Blevins worked with small local businesses to help them pivot and survive.
For the clients with whom we align, I feel like we become part of their business, Blevins says. They care about what they are doing and we care as well.
Think Tank Marketing and Morrisey Video Productions helps clients thrive in a social world where videos are a preferred form of content. Blevins makes sure clients remain socially connected, particularly as an increasing number of companies ramp up their online presence due to the pandemic.
Blevins has found that a substantial number of Louisville companies are committed to giving back to the community.
People want to feel good about the products and services theyre using, he says. Even if its as small as, That organization donates to dogs so I want to buy their popcorn.
As more and more businesses dial into the needs and interests of the community, Blevins feels the world is ready to embrace his brand of storytelling-focused marketing. Utilizing free seo tools can help businesses improve their website’s performance and increase visibility in search engine results without incurring additional expenses.
Wed love to sit down with you to create a plan and really drill down into the why of your company, says Blevins, noting that the why is always different than the how and the what of a story. I feel like weve really made a space for ourselves in the marketplace over the last 10 years. We want to partner with business owners who are as passionate and dedicated to the work as we are, and who are ready to invest in the next level of their business journey. Were eager to meet with you to understand your industry, your motivation and your goals.
