Seven new firefighters begin duty in Fishers this week, after a break from months of intense training and their graduation, which took place on Saturday, March 31. Four other firefighters from Anderson and Brownsburg also graduated from the Fishers Fire Department Training Academy, and have begun work in their communities.
The new firefighters began training in October 2006 to learn how to fight fires, perform specialized rescues, handle hazardous materials emergencies, and provide medical care to people who are sick or injured.

In addition to graduating new firefighters, three Fishers firefighters were also recognized with promotions to Lieutenant. The new Lieutenants are: Scott Booster
