Goodes Security Consulting helps companies and residential homeowners determine their specific security and risk management needs and then develops a strategic solution to help them smoothly transition to an improved security profile.

Owner Roger Goodes is now at a place in life where he wants to be home more and travel less, and current and prospective clients couldn’t be in better – or safer – hands. A 20-year resident of Fishers, Goodes has over 40 years of experience in federal and local law enforcement, corporate security, and security consulting. He spent 26 years with the United States Secret Service, including nearly seven years assigned to the Presidential Protective Division. His last nine years with the Secret Service were as special agent in charge of the Indianapolis field office. He then served six years as director of security services for Anthem, Inc., a Fortune 50 company. These experiences led him to Hillard Heintze, a leading security risk management firm, where he spent three years working with companies in all industries and sizes.

Outside of corporate security, residential security assessments can help identify the vulnerabilities that exist in and around your home; it’s important to know Goodes Security Consulting isn’t just for large companies. After the residential assessment, Goodes offers a mitigation plan to address your needs while home or away. Moving into a new home is a perfect opportunity for homeowners to learn which safety and security measures exist, and which may benefit them moving forward.

Once a potential client contacts Goodes, he will walk through security concerns and goals -what do you want to have done and why? Homeowners will then schedule a time for Goodes to visit the home, where he’ll start surveying the property from the outside and look at things like lighting, fences and gates. Then, moving inside, Goodes will inspect the windows, doors and locks before putting together a strategy that fits what the homeowner is looking for.

“Adapting to the threat the homeowner feels, whether that’s just wanting to feel safe or to prevent a burglary, is like solving a puzzle,” Goodes says. “I refer to security as an art. I talk about all different aspects of life with my clients and then suggest a strategy that fits with their lifestyle.”

It’s important to Goodes that homeowners know their security strategy is tailor made. He wants to fit your strategy to fit your house and how you use it. He says most of the security technology, including alarms, cameras and smart locks, is now app based and can be installed by the homeowners themselves, depending on the level of security needed. Today’s technological advancements have also drastically lowered the cost of security systems, along with making them easy to use. He’ll even revisit the home after installation to confirm all security technology has been properly placed.

“It’s rewarding to give people insight into how to live their lives safely without overburdening them with worry or fear,” he says.
