Paid for by ADHD Life Medical Associates
Tracie Meyer, AG-ACNP, owner of ADHD Life Medical Associates, wants her patients to know she truly understands them—because she has ADHD, too.
Meyer is a Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner with 13 years of experience in Internal Medicine and 23 years in healthcare. Her passion for ADHD care began when her two sons were diagnosed, leading to her own late-in-life diagnosis.
ADHD carries a strong genetic component and is highly heritable, with many adults only recognizing their own ADHD after their child is diagnosed.
Meyer recalls her own experience: “After my first son was diagnosed, I immersed myself in learning everything I could about ADHD to help him, only to realize that I faced many of the same struggles—focus, impulsivity, poor time management, and organization. My own diagnosis brought so much clarity to my past. School had been especially difficult—I had to reread everything three times just to retain it, constantly spaced out in class, in conversations, and even while driving. I always felt like I had to work three times as hard as everyone else. With the right treatment and education, I was able to develop skills I had never learned before.”
While ADHD has been recognized for centuries, our understanding has evolved significantly over the past 50 years. Notably, formal acknowledgment of ADHD in adults and girls did not emerge until the 1990s—one reason so many adults are only now receiving diagnoses.
Bridging the Gap in ADHD Care
Through her own journey, Meyer recognized the need for comprehensive ADHD care in the community. After years of navigating treatments, school accommodations, and continuing medical education, she founded ADHD Life Medical Associates to bridge the gap and offer in-depth diagnostic and treatment options.
Meyer stresses the importance of specialized ADHD care, emphasizing that an accurate diagnosis requires more than a simple survey. Many primary care providers seek support for more in-depth evaluations than they are equipped to perform.
ADHD: A Challenge and a Superpower
Meyer also wants to highlight that ADHD isn’t just a challenge—it’s a strength. People with ADHD are known for creativity, hyperfocus, energy, enthusiasm, resilience, adaptability, self-awareness, empathy, and humor. They are 300% more likely to start their own businesses, thrive on unconventional thinking, and seek out new experiences. ADHD Life Medical Associates focuses not only on the challenges of ADHD but also on its strengths.
Comprehensive ADHD Services at ADHD Life Medical Associates
ADHD Life Medical Associates has been fully operational since January 2025. The clinic offers a holistic approach to ADHD care, including:
Medical Management – A thorough evaluation and diagnosis process, including screening for learning disabilities and personalized treatment plans. Medication management is available when necessary for ADHD, anxiety, and depression.
GeneSight Testing – A genetic test that helps determine which medications may work best based on an individual’s DNA.
Executive Function Coaching – A structured, personalized approach to improve organization, focus, and follow-through. Patients receive assessments of executive function strengths and weaknesses, goal setting, strategy development, and ongoing support.
MindPrint Cognitive Testing (for ages 3rd grade–21 years) – A one-hour, at-home assessment that identifies cognitive strengths and challenges, screens for giftedness and learning disabilities, provides actionable resources for parents and students and helps high schoolers determine whether they will perform better on the SAT or ACT. Meyer emphasizes that this test is valuable for all students, not just those with ADHD.
“Life is a puzzle, and I love using my medical background to disentangle all the pieces for each patient, helping them to put the puzzle back together.”
