Klooz BrewzPatrick Klooz, owner of Klooz Brewz, says he is proud to be a part of the downtown Lebanon revitalization.

“Klooz Brewz is a 3,600-square-foot establishment that will give all of our guests a great community experience they will really enjoy with their family,” Klooz says.

Klooz notes that opening Klooz Brewz has been a longtime goal of his, and he says it was nice to time it with the revitalization of Lebanon.

“The downtown revitalization movement by the City of Lebanon is what sparked me to start pursuing my dream,” Klooz says. “I am the founder and brewer – the Klooz in Klooz Brewz.”

Klooz Brewz opened on June 16, 2021, to a highly enthusiastic response from city residents and guests from other cities and counties.

“We knew we were the missing piece to the downtown revitalization,” Klooz says. “We wanted to be a part of that movement. The genuine goal was to become that economic and social anchor for downtown Lebanon.”

Klooz Brewz, an artisan brewery and public house, has had customers praising the new establishment.

“The community response has been overwhelmingly positive,” Klooz says. “We are very family-friendly, and we have excellent handcrafted sodas and 33 flavors you can add to them. They have been a big hit.”

The wide number of food selections at Klooz Brewz has attracted a lot of hungry guests who have already made return visits.

Klooz Brewz“The most popular menu items have been our cheese curds, tenderloin, wings, and our fantastic mac and cheese,” Klooz says.

The cheese curds are seasoned with garlic and served with marinara.

“We also have what is called Ole Indiana Tenderloin, an award-winning tenderloin, which is either fried or grilled,” Klooz says. “It’s great. Our traditional chicken wings are beer-brined, whole wings that are fried. The brined wings are my personal favorite menu item. They are excellent. No sauce is needed.”

The wide selection of mac and cheese includes Buffalo, Kickin’ Bourbon, and Cheese Burger among others.

“We also offer a wide selection of smash burgers, wraps and salads,” Klooz says. “Our goal is to have a very diverse beer and food menu.”

The brews and drinks at Klooz Brewz have also been a big hit according to Klooz. He says every brew is handcrafted and made locally in the heart of Lebanon.

“We sell a lot of beer,” Klooz says. “We have one specialty brew called Park Street Pilsner, which is probably our biggest seller, followed by our IPAs and our gold-winning Tipton Till Gose.”

The “Flagship Brewz” also include the 1832 IPA, an American IPA with notes of mango, pine and citrus flavors, and a touch of cedar. Klooz says the beer was created as a salute to the founding of Lebanon by pioneer settlers in 1832. The settlers witnessed some hickory trees that made them think of majestic biblical cedars of Lebanon.

“That’s how the town of Lebanon was named,” Klooz says.

Other popular brews include the Big 4 Stout, which Klooz says is a rich, malty stout brewed with coffee and chocolate.

“This brew was inspired by the Big Four Railroad that once went through our great town and connected with Cincinnati, Cleveland, Chicago and St. Louis,” Klooz says. “Right now it is known as the Big 4 Trail that passes through the heart of Lebanon.”

Klooz BrewzAnother featured brew is the Hefe-Barcio, a wheat beer that Klooz says is a “cloudy, German classic Hefeweizen. It is dedicated to my uncle, Philip Barcio. Phil helped me out immensely, ever since the start of Klooz Brewz.”

“Specialty Brewz” include the Blood Orange 1832, an IPA American, the Pineapple Land Heist, an IPA with a strong pineapple taste, and the Arctic Booneberry, a sour. Five percent of sales benefit The Arc of Greater Boone County.

Klooz has fun picking out his favorite drink.

“I am all over the place,” he says. “I drink just about everything we make, but I guess I definitely prefer the 1832 IPA.”

When Klooz was planning the extensive menu, he wanted guests to have a lot of great options to choose from.

“We serve mixed drinks, ciders, KBZ Seltzer and our very own handcrafted sodas,” Klooz says.

Klooz’s goal was to make his place a fun dining and entertainment destination for the whole family.

“We have Taco Tuesdays, with steak tacos and live music at 6 p.m. Tuesdays,” Klooz says. “We also have Wing Wednesdays and live trivia at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays.”
