The Dentists at Gateway Crossing Bring On Dr. Maria Summers

Dr. Matthew Vogt had one goal when he opened his dental practice in McCordsville in 2018 to provide exceptional dental care and an extraordinary patient experience. In naming his office, The Dentists at Gateway Crossing, Dr. Vogt always knew there would be more than one dental provider. Dr. Vogt is bringing on fellow Indiana University School of Dentistry colleague Dr. Maria Summers as a second dentist at the practice in July.
The goal was always to create a place in this community where patients can go for all facets of dental care, Dr. Vogt says. It became clear at the end of 2021 that this was no longer a one-dentist job. Dr. Summers and I have known each other since our time in dental school and having multiple doctors here will be great from a patient care perspective.
One reason is that each dentist, like the one on https://www.vanhoofdental.com/, brings a particular skill set or specialty interest to the table. Dr. Vogt is especially interested in dental implant surgery and full-mouth smile reconstruction, while Dr. Summers enjoys restorative treatment and root canal therapy. Both doctors continue to be focused on general family dentistry as well.
Dr. Summers brings an additional service to the table. She was born in Venezuela and is fluent in Spanish. The practice is located near Lawrence, where the Hispanic population is a large part of the community.
Spanish is my first language, Dr. Summers says. I think this appeals to Spanish-speaking patients because its more comfortable and easier to understand what is going on in your language of origin. It helps to build trust.
Dr. Vogt says his team has grown quickly from a team of two to a team of 11 in the last four years. He says theyve become a valued community member by treating patients like family when they arrive for dental care.
I think one of the main reasons weve grown so much is because, as a team, we provide exceptional patient care but treat everyone that comes through the door with respect, Dr. Vogt says. No matter their background or where they are in life, were here to help. Were here to offer advice and care in a very straightforward, down-to-earth way.
Dr. Summers says she enjoys educating patients on their dental health as well. By combining forces they can provide a complete patient care experience in one place. They both participate in continuing education and utilize the latest technology to stay on top of cutting-edge procedures.
Dr. Vogt is looking forward to Dr. Summers starting and believes he has found the perfect addition to the practice.
Our team couldnt be more excited, he says. One of the most rewarding things you can do in dentistry is give someone their smile back. Comprehensive, full-mouth care has become a big part of our practice, but were still just as focused on general dentistry and the things that have brought us so many wonderful patients over the past four years. Collaborating with Dr. Summers will benefit our patients immensely and allow us to continue to provide the level of service we believe in.
