McKenzie Students Win and Advance at DECA District Competition

McKenzie’s DECA students did very well at the district competition and are advancing to the State DECA Competition. Medal winners were: 1st Place–Financial Analysis Team–Joanna Balk and Simon Hawkins; 2nd Place–Food Marketing–Troy Grossman; 2nd Place–Quick-Serve Restaurant–Aaron Mickens; 3rd Place–Marketing Management–Devin Landers. Additionally, five more students advanced to the state level: Buying Merchandising Team–Krystal Webster and Kymberly Thomas; Hospitality Team–Kevin Jones and Lindsay Nowlin; and Quick-Serve Restaurant–Allen Mickens. The State DECA competition will be held in Indianapolis in March. We feel very proud and well represented by these ten students. Ms. Kelly Kuroiwa is their DECA sponsor.
