Our “Young Voices Short Story Competition” winners were on hand at the Indianapolis WriteStuff Writers’ Conference on April 28th to receive their plaques. Over 100 entries were read by the WriteStuff Writers’ judges and faculty with the three winners announced after lunch at the conference.

Tara Brugh, McCordsville (age 9), Alex Zoumbaris, Fishers (age 11) and Mary O’Leary, Fishers (age 10) took home top honors which included a signed book by Lemony Snicket himself (author of “A Series of Unfortunate Events“) Daniel Handler. After reading Tara Brugh’s winning entry, Tom Britt showed the winners a personal message from Daniel Handler.
Honorable Mentions were also announced. These individuals wrote great stories worthy of being a finalist by the WriteStuff judges.
