Center Grove HS Continues Search for Principal

CG-School-Logo.110sqThe Center Grove Community School Corporation (CGCSC) administrators have decided to repost the job posting for Center Grove High School’s principal position to widen the applicant pool.

CGCSC first posted the position in April, after Principal Matt Shockley announced his resignation from the corporation to take a job as Principal at Avon High School.

The corporation fielded 15 applications in its initial attempt to fill the position. Superintendent Rich Arkanoff and a committee of 46 individuals (made up of staff, students, parents and administrators) screened 6 applicants on May 7, 2013. Mr. Arkanoff feels the application period near the end of the school year could have contributed to the small applicant pool. “It’s all about finding the right person with the best experiences. We are going to take our time and search for a leader who will take Center Grove High School to the next level,” Mr. Arkanoff stated.

While the position has been reopened on the CGCSC website (www.centergrove.k12.in.us/employment) and postings have been submitted to the Indiana Department of Education and Indiana Association of School Principals, CGCSC will consider hiring an interim principal until the right person is found.

For more information, contact Rich Arkanoff, Superintendent, at arkanoffr@centergrove.k12.in.us or 317-881-9326.
