This year marked the largest Day of Giving Back for the Community Foundation of Boone County (CFBC), awarding a total of $60,000 to 10 Boone County-serving nonprofits!
On November 17, the CFBC board of directors and staff traveled throughout Boone County and surprised 10 nonprofits with unsolicited grants. The awards ranged in amounts from $5,000 to $10,000 each. It was the fifth annual CFBC Day of Giving Back, and was the largest to date. With the entire day dedicated to giving back, the CFBC team focused on the importance of continually giving back to help others.
“Local granting is made possible by the many people who have supported and continue to support the work of the community foundation,” says Julie Reagan, CFBC chief executive officer. “We thank you all and look forward to being able to make a greater impact as we continue to grow.”
In less than six hours, the CFBC poured $60,000 into Boone County nonprofits to help them better serve others. The following organizations received a grant: Ben’s Ranch, Center Stage Community Theatre, Habitat for Humanity of Boone County, ILADD, Inc., Jamestown Community Partnership, Safe Families for Children, The ARC of Greater Boone County, The Caring Center, The Refuge, and Zionsville Alliance for Mental Wellness.
As we approach the holiday season, we encourage you to find a local nonprofit and make a donation of either time or treasure. Every dollar amount counts, no matter the size.
