Lawrence Central junior Amanda Bowman and senior Kristin Bailey have won international journalism awards from Quill and Scroll, the honor society of high school journalists.
Bowman was honored for two pieces, one about students who have suffered the death of a parent and the other about a student who had attempted suicide. Bailey was honored for the work she had done on the centerspread about attempted suicide. Both pieces had been published in the Cub Reporter, LC’s award-winning student newspaper.
