When Tom and Bethany Eckert met in college and eventually married, they had a mission from the start.

They both loved serving others and shared a deep affection for animals. Like many, they had experienced the loss of a beloved pet and wanted to help families say goodbye with dignity and respect.

Not only was it important for the couple to provide care and love for animals, but they also have a passion for comforting pet owners through the pain of losing their four-legged family members.

At Forever Above Pet Cremation and Memorial Center in Westfield, the Eckerts handle the cremation of pets and also offer a memorial center where families can hold a funeral for their pets.

They work with local animal hospitals and veterinary clinics, as well as directly with pet owners. They offer pickup from either location and return the pet’s remains with a certificate of cremation.

Packages are available that include clay paw impressions, fur clippings, an urn and more.

Ultimately, the Eckerts hope to provide comfort to those going through a difficult time.

“We look forward to caring for you during the loss of your treasured pet, while bringing respect and dignity to their memory,” Tom Eckert said.

The facade features corrugated metal awnings over the windows and a green-and-white striped awning over the entrance. A circular white logo for the restaurant is mounted on the brick wall to the left of the main window, which has an "OPEN" neon sign. A plaque on the corner of the building reads "EMMA 1930." A black Cadillac is parked in the foreground.

A large group of smiling seniors and a trainer pose together in a boxing gym. Most are wearing boxing gloves and t-shirts that say "Rock Steady Boxing." In the center of the group stands a green torso-shaped punching dummy wearing a shirt that reads "Fighting Parkinson’s 2gether." A heavy Everlast punching bag hangs to the right, and the group is gathered on a black gym mat against a plain grey wall.

A wide shot of a classic wooden bar counter inside a dimly lit pub. In the center, a bright green neon sign reads "THE IDLE HOUR." To the left, a television displays a "March Madness" sports broadcast. The bar is cluttered with essential items, including stacked glasses, a cash register, napkins, and a "Wi-Fi" sign. Various posters, neon beer signs, and two life-sized statues of men in formal 19th-century attire decorate the back bar area.
