As the old saying goes, “Success is best when it is shared.” Research shows women in particular can benefit from collaboration over competition, and when they do, women are more successful. While one successful woman alone has power, collectively they can achieve impact. This is the spirit in which Women In Noblesville (WIN) was developed.

Mary Noble, director of member engagement for the Noblesville Chamber of Commerce, recognized that what was missing here was an opportunity for women to connect socially, grow personally, network, and connect while serving the community. The Chamber formed a volunteer committee of women to explore opportunities to connect women, and the group has been growing steadily each year.

They accomplish this through a variety of events and programs throughout the year, monthly, quarterly and annually. There are several events offered including Coffee and Connect, Wine and Wisdom, the WIN Book Club, and Birdies and Brews. They are planning to bring back the women’s conference in the spring of 2022.

Neilia Brown, president and CEO of Van Dyck Brown & Associates, co-chairs the WIN committee along with Kathy Young, vice president of commercial banking for First Merchants Bank, and both have been actively involved in growing the organization.

Brown explains that there are many opportunities to be part of the organization.

“If women are looking for a WIN event to experience, I encourage them to attend our Coffee and Connect event,” Brown says. “This monthly event is a free of charge. It is hosted by Stephanie Smith at the Smith House on the second Wednesday of the month. As the event suggests, we provide coffee and pastries, and an opportunity to meet other women in an informal setting.”

Even if you come alone, they will make certain that you will come away knowing at least one new friend. There are two more opportunities in 2021 – October 13 and November 10.

In addition, there are several annual events including Wine and Wisdom, held at the end of September at Spencer Farm Winery. This is an opportunity to enjoy a glass of wine and appetizers, network, and listen to a guest speaker or a panel of speakers on a variety of topics. For golf enthusiasts, they offer a golf outing known as Birdies and Brews, hosted at Purgatory Golf Club.

Given the way many of us have had to adjust social and emotional interactions, we can all use meaningful connections. At the end of the day, that is how women in Noblesville are winning – because they are achieving these goals. Ultimately, that is also how the WIN members are making an impact personally, in the community and in business.
