Ohana Donuts & Ice Cream Offers Made-to-Order Doughnuts, Homemade Ice Cream & More

Nate Haugh loves sweet stuff, and he is doing his best to make sure the Fishers community can satisfy cravings for custom doughnuts, homemade ice cream and delicious coffee beverages with Ohana Donuts & Ice Cream.
When Ohana Donuts & Ice Cream opened in February on Brooks School Road, word quickly spread about the unique customer experience the shop provides. Now, through online ordering for curbside service, carry-out, and delivery services such as Uber Eats, customers of all ages can design a doughnut of their choosing or select ice cream treats to be enjoyed at home.
For each doughnut purchased, customers can choose one of the seven icings available. The next step is to select from 14 toppings, and the creation is then completed with one of five drizzle options. Savvy parents can turn the experience into a delicious math probability problem.
Ive been looking for a business to start for the last 15 years, Haugh says. My wife Katy, our three children and I have wonderful memories of vacationing in Hawaii, and ohana means family in Hawaiian. I love sweets and doughnuts are my favorite food. They are great in the morning, but I wanted an all-day concept. Ice cream is also a favorite of mine, so I decided to combine the two. Surprisingly, when people come for ice cream, they often end up taking doughnuts home for the next day.
Products sold by Ohana Donuts & Ice Cream are made in Indiana. The doughnuts are baked onsite, and the ice cream is sourced from Sundaes Homemade Ice Cream in Indianapolis. The shops coffee beans are processed in small batches by locally-based Roti Coffee Roasters. The shop also offers specialty popcorns, chocolate-covered peanuts, and caramels from Goods Candy Shop in Anderson. Cups and bracelets are available from Warsaw-based company MudLOVE.
People rave about the coffee, and some customers come just for a great cup of coffee, Haugh says. Of all the espresso-based beverages, caramel macchiato is the favorite. One of the biggest surprises is that I had to buy a second milkshake mixer. Any flavor of our ice cream can be made into a milkshake, and people even combine two flavors. The most popular ice cream flavors are Lemon Oreo and Graham Central Station.

We are all about families, and we hope to share the spirit of Ohana with Fishers and the surrounding community, Haugh says.
