Chef Suzanne Opens Drive-through Pop-up Food Hut

The popular Fishers & Geist area Chef Suzanne is at it again.
Not only has Suzanne Rockwell catered to families, corporations, famous musicians and athletes for several years, she opened her catering facility in Fishers to also offer cooking classes and special events and has now made time for a brand new venture.
Chef Suzanne has opened a little drive-through pop-up food hut, called Fresh. Food. Fast. in the parking lot at 8140 Oaklandon Road.
“I wanted a storefront, but I didn’t want a storefront,” Rockwell says as she explains the restaurant business is a lot different than the catering business. “This is not dealing with a bar and tables. This is fresh food made at the catering kitchen and brought here to be sold. This is the best of both worlds.”
Chef says her clientele for the Fresh. Food. Fast. concept includes parents dropping off kids at nearby schools and churches, workers who want to take lunch to work and busy parents who want to stop and get something to take home for dinner.
“Around 3 to 4 p.m. cars start pulling in, and I know its time to get the dinner menu out,” says Rockwell, who also enjoys working at the hut now and then.
Customers can choose from iced mocha lattes and all natural juices any time of the day. Breakfast lovers can pick up egg squares ($2.50), along with hash brown nests, yogurt or baked goods that come in bite-size mini loaves for a dollar. There’s also local coffee from Brickhouse.
A variety of salads can be purchased for $10 a pound or get an individual shrimp salad over fresh spinach for $9 dollars. Dinner items include ready-to-eat chef-inspired meals such as Bang Bang chicken over rice. Pre-orders are also welcome by calling the hut at 317-544-8822.
“Everything is fresh, dated and dropped off early in the morning,” Rockwell says. “You get the same fresh quality as picking up from our catering kitchen. If it doesn’t sell the first day, the price drops on any item the second day.”
The Fresh. Food. Fast. drive-through hut is open Monday through Friday 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can find the menu and daily specials at chefsuzanne.com and on Facebook.
