A Crowning Celebration: 20 Years of Miss Indiana in Zionsville

This summer marks a special milestone in Boone County with the 20th year of the Miss Indiana Scholarship Competition in Zionsville. Every June, Zionsville comes alive with excitement as contestants from across the state gather for a week of competition and celebration. At the heart of it all is a strong partnership between the Miss Indiana Organization and the Zionsville Lions Club, whose members help coordinate the annual Miss Indiana Parade down Main Street and a cherished Lions Club dinner.

“We are so involved as a pageant community for the Miss Indiana Scholarship Program with Zionsville at large” 2024 Miss Indiana winner Kalyn Melham says, “We have learned so much about the community. We’ve befriended so many community members.”

The week-long competition is powered by volunteers and local organizations many of whom provide the very scholarships awarded to the candidates. “All of the scholarships throughout the week are donated and provided by volunteers, and a lot of the scholarships that are given to the Miss Indiana candidates are from the Lions Club here in Zionsville,” Melham added.

One of the most anticipated events of the week is the Miss Indiana Parade, which draws families, fans, and visitors to downtown Zionsville. This year’s parade will be held on Saturday, June 21 at 12:00 p.m. along Main Street. The 2025 competitions will take place June 18–21 at the STAR Bank Performing Arts Center in Zionsville with tickets available now at www.missindiana.org.
