Red Curb Improv Comedy Theatre Opening in Avon

Improv comedy is coming to Avon with the opening of the Red Curb Theatre in February. Red Curb Theatre will be the first entertainment venue of its kind in Avon providing weekly Chicago-style improv comedy shows. There is a stand up comedy documentary that covers a portion of what these types of shows entail for those interested in a behind the scenes look. The venue is being opened by veteran Indianapolis improviser and local radio personality and producer, Will Pfaffenberger.

Red Curb Improv Comedy Theatre will open with two 90-minute shows per week on Saturday nights at 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. The 7:30 p.m. show will be an all-ages show. The 10 p.m. show will be an adults-only show for people 17 or older. General Admission tickets will cost $15. Audiences can look forward to the official grand opening on Saturday, February 17. Additional information about shows, tickets, auditions and theatre sponsorships can be found at

“It’ll be a new fun thing to do on the weekend – especially for us westsiders,” says Red Curb owner Will Pfaffenberger. “Our improv shows are guaranteed to create some completely unique, ridiculous and hilarious comedy. It’s a pretty sweet thing to bring my passion for improv comedy to my hometown and offer a totally different kind of entertainment to the community.”

Red Curb Theatre is located at 8403 E US HWY 36, Avon, Indiana in the same complex as The Avon Barbershop, The iShop, Frye Electric and Jump and Play.

Red Curb Theatre is a performance space for improv-style comedy. Groups of comedic performers and actors create escalating scenes of characters and stories on-the-spot based on audience suggestions. Nothing is pre-planned or written and everything is all made up in the moment.

Improvisers and Audiences are all along for the ride together as each show progresses and the comedy, characters and stories are discovered. No two shows are ever the same.

Red Curb owner, Will Pfaffenberger, has been professionally writing, performing and producing comedy since 2004. He got his start in broadcast on the nationally syndicated Bob and Tom Show and on stage with ComedySportz Indianapolis. Since then, he has co-founded the Indianapolis renowned sketch and improv groups Fun Dumpster, Three Dollar Bill Comedy and Dudesical, performed on many radio shows and comedy stages in the city and is currently a personality and producer of the market’s top morning radio show – The Smiley Morning Show on 99.5 WZPL. He is excited to be bringing his passion for improv comedy to his hometown, Avon, IN.
