The Southside Art League, Inc. (SALI) is proud to announce its next Guest Artist Show, April 4-28, 2018. Hoosier artist Dr. Alice Harpel will be exhibiting her impressionistic landscape and still life paintings in oil and acrylic, most of which will be for sale.
Alice Harpel is a resident of Crawfordsville Indiana. She has a BA in Sociology from the University of Dayton, a Master’s in Education from Purdue University, and a Doctorate in Educational Administration from Nova Southeastern University.
Upon retirement, she quickly returned to her lifelong passion—ART. Growing up in the country provided many hours of enjoying art. As an adult, she still experiences the same fun and joy from creating something that is uniquely hers. Her artworks have vibrant colors and traditional uncomplicated imagery of local scenery, parks and farmers markets. She seeks to capture the beauty in unusual places. Viewers often comment that her paintings make them feel happy, and that is what keeps her motivated to create.
Dr. Harpel is a member of several art organizations, including the American Impressionistic Society, Indiana Plein Air Painters Association, and the National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society.
