The Zionsville Optimist Club announced a new fundraising event known as “Taste of Spring.” The event will be held on Friday, April 24, at the Lions Club clubhouse on Elm Street. Proceeds will benefit the Optimist Club and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Zionsville on a 50/50 basis.
The “Taste of Spring” is a wine and craft beer tasting that will also provide light hor d’oeuvres. Expect to find four different craft beer tastings provided by noted local brewers Sun King, Flat 12, Fountain Square and wine tastings provided by The Wine Guys Grapevine Cottage. The event will be divided into two 1.5 hour sessions: 5-6:30 p.m. and 6:30-8 p.m. There will also be a silent auction.
In addition to the tastings, attendees will be given a 10/10 voucher that can be used at several local restaurants. When the voucher is used, you receive a 10 percent discount on your check and the participating restaurants will, in addition, donate an additional 10 percent of the check to the event.
Attendance will be limited. So, get your tickets early by going to the Boys & Girls Club’s website at bagcoz.org/. Tickets are $25 in advance and $35 at the door. The Optimist Club hopes, with your support, this spring event will become an annual community event, like their “Hit the Bricks” race has become.
