First, make an appointment. Time permitting, we can fit you without an appointment, but having one allows us to plan accordingly for your visit and for us to focus on you while you’re with us. After we've talked about your likes and dislikes, we'll take measurements and your professional fitter will bring you a variety of styles of bras to try on, working towards the perfect fit. We ask our guests to disregard what you “think” the sizing means. Our bras are sized under European sizing guides because most of our products are from various European countries. We’d like you to think of bra sizing as nothing more than a number for us to use in storing our products. Different styles will have different shapes. Even color can impact fit and feel. The short answer is No. You don’t have to do anything, according to my dad, except pay taxes and die. I guess he says “pay taxes” since he prefers his freedom over a 3 x 5 prison cell. But the question “do I have to wear a bra?” is a valid question and begs the questions “Why wear a bra?”
Breast tissue needs support to keep it from becoming low hanging fruit. Some women seem to keep their perky 16 year old breasts and YAY for them. But most of the female population starts to sag at various stages of life. For me, I think it’s when I was in grade school or at least that’s how I remember it.
The bra was designed after suspension bridges. Now for those of you with an engineering mind, you get it. For me, I understand that it takes a lot of work for a bra to keep ‘these girls’ in the right place on my frame. Breast tissue is supported naturally by Cooper’s Ligaments. As these ligaments stretch over time, they aren’t able to provide the same support. Breast tissue should be in the middle of your arm between your shoulder and elbow. The support actually comes from the band of the bra, not the straps. If the band fits snugly around your torso and sits right where your breast tissue starts on your frame, you will have the support you need. The straps do a mere 10% of the work on the bra. Their job is to snuggle the cup to your breast.
If your band doesn’t feel like a snug hug as compared to a wimpy touch, it will probably ride up your back which creates a teeter totter effect. The band rides up in the back and the breasts go down. The band should be snug enough that it sits level around your torso and horizontal to the ground. The straps are adjustable to make it comfortable for your body. We always encourage handwashing. The fabrics used for creating your beautiful intimates are strong, yet delicate. To get the longest and best use out of them, hand washing is the best way to go. For your workout wear, those technical, stretchy fabrics that work so hard to keep you comfortable during your workouts, can end up holding on to dirt and odors. Machine washing on the DELICATE or HAND WASH cycle with fabric-friendly laundry products is the answer. The same holds true for swimwear. The construction may be tough, but the fabric is not. And the chlorines and chemicals of pool water and the harshness of saltwater and sun put a strain on the fabrics.
