The Rinebold Company is all about strategy, execution and results.
Clients hire me for any one of those needs but the conversation often starts in a much different way. Sometimes it is as basic as them recognizing they need help. says JoJo Rinebold, the companys principal. Where we always start is by understanding the current state of their brand. And when we finish, my goal is for both of us to walk away knowing that the client is in a great position to leverage their brand to achieve the results they want.
Based in Zionsville, The Rinebold Company provides brand strategy and communications consultation to clients of varying size, profile, industry and reach. JoJo Rinebold has more than 30 years of experience in brand strategy, communications, market research, project management and special event development, including a previous position with the NCAA.
Originally from St. Louis, Rinebold attended Emory University before moving to Washington, D.C., where she worked her way up the company ladder at a sports marketing firm.
I started out as a secretary answering phones and left seven years later as an assistant vice president. It was a phenomenal experience that gave me tremendous opportunities to learn, Rinebold says. The parent company represented professional athletes as well as sporting events and rights holders. The particular area I worked in was television, specifically representing sports properties to international broadcasters.
Visit The Rinebold Company Online!During her time in sports marketing, Rinebold worked with the NCAA Championships, which exposed her to the NCAA National Office. She eventually found herself living in Indianapolis as an employee of the NCAA.
I worked for the NCAA for 13 years, starting out overseeing the media relationships between the NCAA, ESPN and CBS, Rinebold says. Over time, I took on more responsibilities dealing with corporate sponsorships, championship marketing, community outreach and the Hall of Champions. The list of responsibilities grew over time and ultimately led to a role leading the Associations first formalized brand strategy.
In the midst of a leadership change at the NCAA, Rinebold decided to make the most of the relationships she had fostered through the years. I loved what I was doing but wanted to do it in a different environment where I had greater control over my time.
Rinebold still works with college sports-related entities, but the companys client base has expanded to national member organizations, small to medium-sized businesses with regional and national footprints – across a variety of industries, for profit and non-profits.
The problems my clients are trying to solve are universal. What differs is how they execute the solution and for whom.
Regarding brand and marketing strategy, Rinebold sums these concepts up simply.
The root of any company or organizations success is going to be how effective they are in building relationships with their customers, their audiences or whomever their constituents are, she says. In order to do that, you have to know what makes you unique and ultimately valuable. Then you have be disciplined about executing on that in every aspect of your communications, operations and decision making.
Rinebold and her family appreciate living in Zionsville and are grateful for all of the opportunities they have to get involved – in particular Zionsville Little League.
There was so much that happened in that time period in Lions Park that led to so many other great things, primarily the people we met as a result, Rinebold says. Our kids played many sports, but it was really ZLL that exposed us to what the Zionsville community has to offer.
