With more than 25 years of experience tattooing, Adam Harber has made a name for himself and his business in Noblesville, Indiana. In the heart of the town, located off of 10th and Clinton St., Harber operates a tattoo and piercing shop called Mystic Images Tattoo, Inc. This studio is a full-service tattoo and piercing parlor that has award-winning professionals certified in piercings, cover-ups, portraits, and more.
Harber began tattooing in 1996. He worked in 13 other tattoo shops throughout Indiana before deciding to take a step back and reevaluate his own goals. It was those years of experience that made Harber want to open his own tattoo studio.
“I was able to get different perspective on tattooing in those other shops,” Harber says.
As a Noblesville native, he returned home and created his own business. Named after Mystic Road in Noblesville, Mystic Images Tattoo, Inc. was born.
Mystic Images Tattoo was originally opened a 1/2 block away from its current location. Through hard work, dedication and persistence, Harber landed at his current location off of 10th street in 2014.
While Noblesville is not Mystic Images Tattoo’s only location, Harber and his team have been especially successful here. He considers Noblesville one of the coolest towns in the United States.
“I love the people, Noblesville is just a really good community,” Harber says. “I think Noblesville was the best place to have my business. I have a studio in Illinois, and the town doesn’t even compare.”
And the community loves him back. Mystic Images Tattoo has become a staple in the Noblesville community. With a constant flow of clients in and out of the shop, Adam has no idea how many clients the shop has had as a total. Not even a guess. But, he does have an idea on just the amount of people who show up on their busiest nights.
“We are averaging about 110 tattoos just on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights alone,” Harber says. “I average about four tattoos in a day alone.”
With a tattoo shop of nine artists and three piercers, business never really slows down. In fact, quite the opposite. Harber credits all of his artists for being especially talented and bringing in numerous amounts of regular clients. Harber also praises the community, “We have really great community support, and it keeps us super busy.”
The number of patrons visiting has spiked in recent years, Harber mentions they have consistent growth. He mentions that his shop manager of six years, RJ Hunter, is a big part of their success with the growth the shop continuously receives.
Many customers regularly travel across state lines to get tattoos or piercings from Harber and his team at Mystic Images Tattoo. Notably, one client of Adam’s has traveled across oceans to receive a tattoo. A police officer from France was Mystic Images Tattoo’s customer from abroad. The types of tattoos performed at Mystic Images Tattoo varies by artists. Each artist specializes in their own art, style, and personality with their work. Adam mentioned that his favorite work is black and grey realism images, illustrative-style art. He also mentioned that his son AJ has brought in a whole new group of clientele with his photo-realism artwork.
The tattoo artists are not only esteemed by the community, they are also award-winning. Harber explained that he, RJ, and the rest of the team try to compete in as many competitions as time allows. With 17 awards under his belt, Harber competes in many tattoo conventions all over the country. Shop Manager, RJ, has won 11 awards.
Mystic Tattoos Inc. has made its footprint in Noblesville. In a matter of eight years, Mystic Images Tattoo has become a principal business in downtown Noblesville. As owner of the shop, Harber gives a huge thanks to the community he lives and works in.
“I think we achieved being a staple in Noblesville by doing the best we can,” he says. “Effort through the process and caring about the outcome.”
He feels flattered and ecstatic by the recognition from his community and peers.
