Migration Wealth ManagementDrew Feutz grew up, as he says, in a cornfield about 30 miles southwest of Indianapolis. His blue-collar family instilled those small-town values of hard work, honesty and down-to-earth approachability. Feutz says he applies those same values to his career as a certified financial planner with Migration Wealth Management. 

MWM offers comprehensive wealth management, including retirement planning and savings, cash flow planning, debt paydown prioritization, insurance and risk management, tax planning, college education planning, employee benefits optimization, estate planning and investment management. “I’ll be turning 30 in a few months, and I really enjoy working with people in their 30s and 40s,” Feutz says. “At that age, people are going through so many changes in their lives. I feel like I’m helping them not only change their lives but potentially make generational changes. Many of my clients are the first in their family to have a significant amount of income to do something with.” 

The first step is to meet potential clients for a one-hour introduction and discovery meeting. Feutz says this allows him to get to know the clients one-on-one and learn about their lives. He wants his clients to see the relationship as mutual and not transactional. The next step is to allow clients to “sleep on it.” 

“I never want to pressure anyone to make a decision that day,” Feutz says. “If it’s a great fit, that’s great. If not, I will help you find something that is a better fit for you. Financial planning can be intimidating. We don’t want you to feel intimidated by us.” 

Feutz says it’s important to him to keep things like pricing transparent with clients. MWM is a fee-only company. Feutz and his co-founder, Jeremy Crocker, don’t make commissions and don’t sell products. 

Migration Wealth Management“By being fee-only, it eliminates that conflict of interest,” Feutz says. “We’re not going to sell you something you don’t need because we would receive a commission on it. This allows us to truly, honestly help our clients.” 

That commitment to honesty that Feutz learned all the way back in that cornfield is what sets him apart today.
