Dunbar DentistryDr. Kim Dunbar provides residents of Noblesville with quality dental care in a relaxed environment. She opened Dunbar Dentistry in Noblesville in 1999 after operating her practice for 10 years in downtown Indianapolis.

“I graduated from IU School of Dentistry in 1989, and before that I worked as a dental assistant in Bloomington,” Dunbar says. “I had a practice in what was the old Bank One tower downtown for 10 years and then decided to move home.”

Dunbar has lived in Noblesville most of her life.

“This is my hometown,” she says. “I grew up here. I was here from kindergarten through graduating high school. Funny enough, I had my senior pictures taken in the building where my practice is now. It was a photography studio.”

Dunbar is looking to the future and possible retirement. She wants to ensure that her patients are aware of her plans, which include hiring her replacement.

“I’m a few years away from retirement,” Dunbar says. “I do have a goal in sight. In 2020 I brought on Dr. Elisheva Tinsley for continuity. A lot of people sell practices and don’t communicate that they’re ready to sell. I’ve been taking care of people for 30 years, and I was not about to just have a strange face come in.”

Tinsley grew up in Vincennes, IN and graduated from the IU School of Dentistry in 2015. She took over the Friday schedule and added Mondays, allowing the practice to be open for an additional day each week.

Dunbar Dentistry“We now have patients that float back and forth between us, which is common in multi doctor care facilities,” Dunbar says. “It is with the understanding that she will be the one that continues the care after I retire.”

Tinsley is happy to be working in the town where her husband grew up, and closer to her home in Fishers.

“It’s been great working here,” Tinsley says. “The staff has the ability to work cohesively as a dental unit. There isn’t a divide in departments. Everyone is so willing to help each other out and willing to go the extra mile. Plus, everyone is very family based.”

The all-female staff works well together to achieve Dunbar’s vision.

“I have been in a practice where it wasn’t all female, and the dynamics were very different,” Dunbar says. “Everyone is very mature, and there is no issue with egos. One thing that makes us different is my faith and how I share that with my staff. It’s God first, family and then work.”

With the addition of Tinsley came some new services for Dunbar Dentistry.

“I’m certified to offer oral sedation dentistry,” Tinsley says. “I just finished my certification for placing dental implants as well.”

Services include preventative care, restorative care, periodontal treatment, cosmetic procedures, tooth replacement, orthodontics, oral surgery and sedation surgery.
