Hidden Gems Await at Corazón Sterling Silver from Taxco

As you stroll down Main Street in Elkhart youll find a hidden gem. There is a special shop that goes by the name of Corazón Sterling Silver from Taxco. It is a locally owned small business that handpicks every piece of jewelry, clothing, home decor and more.
Owner Kathy Geiger did not originally set out to have one of the most unique sterling silver jewelry stores in the region. She began as a design and event coordinator for her church. However, when her husband told her about the unique sterling silver and turquoise jewelry in Taxco, Mexico, a spark went off.
Taxco can be found just southwest of Mexico City. Its renowned for its silver jewelry and Spanish architecture. Its located in the mountains, which plays a special role in how the silver was discovered. This made for a perfect starting point for Geiger, who traveled to Mexico quite often – the ideal person to open a business highlighting these unique products that the Taxco area has to offer. You can find more history about Taxco as you peruse the shop and see the historical displays, including photos on the wall of Taxco, its history, and Geigers ventures to the town.
Originally, Geiger traveled around the United States for nearly half of the year selling jewelry to other stores, retail shows, wholesale shows and more. She enjoyed traveling for nearly 10 years, meeting customers, clients, business owners and others with a love and knowledge of jewelry. Once COVID-19 hit, as for so many, she had to switch up her business model, and decided to head back home to Elkhart. Once she heard there was a building available in the heart of downtown, she decided to take a chance on opening her own business, and the renovation process began.
Fast-forward to today. As you open the doors to Corazón youll find alluring items placed all around the store. Every item is handpicked, from bracelets to earrings, necklaces, rings and even womens fine clothing. Step further into the store and youll find Spark jewelry bar.
Spark is a permanent jewelry bar that is rare to the area. You can find beautiful pieces of jewelry such as chains, earrings and necklaces, like that silver charm necklaces, that are specially fitted to you. The glamorous part of Spark is that customers are able to make the items staples in their everyday wardrobe. In other words, clients never have to worry about jewelry clamps, or taking items on or off every day. The team is helpful in directing customers to the type of silver or gold piece they might ultimately decide on.
As you find yourself getting lost among the lovely products, you will stumble upon a particularly special brand – Johnny Was. It is a womens clothing brand that comes from California, and the team at Corazón handpicks items piece by piece. The patterns are bold, the fabric is sturdy and luxurious, and the embroidery is exquisite. Head to the very back of the store and youll find the highly popular Graze by Erica customized charcuterie boards. Every board the company creates is custom made, and features high-quality meats, cheeses, fruits and crackers. They make wonderful gifts or centerpieces for social gatherings.
