Yoga can seem unapproachable and difficult to some people, but luckily there are local yoga studios right in the Broad Ripple neighborhood whose owners make it their mission to educate and create opportunities for beginner and advanced practitioners alike.
When Aimee Eisenmann took over ownership of kOMpose Yoga, she wanted to maintain the vibe of the studio and cultivate the community that had grown under the previous owner. She grew up dancing and expressing herself through movement, but found it difficult to continue these activities as an adult. She took her first class at kOMpose Yoga and felt extreme peace. She felt that shed stumbled upon a place where she could realize, as she puts is, how much movement meant to her, leading her to take the teacher training courses kOMpose Yoga offered.
During her training, Eisenmann realized opening her own studio was a major goal of hers. Throughout the process of taking ownership of the studio, she knew the opportunity was too good to pass on, even if it felt too good to be true most of the time. She saw that the kOMpose Yoga community was strong and tight-knit from the very beginning of her attendance, and wanted to continue to foster that sense of community for members. Eisenmann knows the community at kOMpose Yoga is different. Members understand the importance of it and welcome new members. They even thanked her for taking ownership of the studio so it could stay open.
Under Eisenmanns leadership, kOMpose Yoga will continue to offer a wide variety of classes, and she trusts the instructors to teach their own styles. The studio offers alignment- and function-focused yoga, yin yoga, vinyasa flows, and restorative sessions so all members can find a class, including on-demand and livestream options. There will also be a new, revamped schedule in January along with new options like couples yoga courses, prenatal classes, kids classes, and an emphasis on yoga teacher training. The New to Yoga series will allow beginners to be in a safe space practicing at a much slower pace than most typical classes. Eisenmann is proud to be a part of the Broad Ripple community and is also excited to offer retail products from local businesses.
