What made you decide to run for Clerk of the Delaware County Courts?
I haven’t sought elected office for its own sake. When opportunities to serve have come along, I’ve taken time to pray and talk with friends and family before deciding whether to step forward. I’m more comfortable behind the scenes than in the spotlight, but public service has called me to serve in visible roles. The Clerk’s office appeals to me because its work is grounded in precision, process, and service — not politics.
What makes you qualified for the position?
I’ve served as a court clerk and understand the technical requirements, legal processes, and careful recordkeeping the role demands. As mayor, I managed a multifaceted office, overseeing staff, budgets, and public services. That experience also strengthened my ability to respond to residents and address their concerns. And having run for mayor, I understand how important accurate voter registration records and fair, transparent, secure elections are.
What changes, if any, would you make to the Clerk’s office?
The office is running well and providing excellent public service. Building on that strong foundation, I’d work to establish measurable performance indicators for operational efficiency, customer service, election administration, financial stewardship, and responses to public-records requests. The goal is to give the public clear information about how the office manages tax dollars and serves the community and the courts.
What makes you stand out as a candidate?
I bring a record of fiscal conservatism and government transparency, along with a genuine commitment to serving others. I’ve served through public office, boards, and direct work with individuals — and I would bring that same dedication to the Clerk’s office.
