2025-26 Male Student-Athlete of the Year: Jackson Bradley

For Jackson Bradley, wrestling has been more than a high school sport. It has been an opportunity to build character, develop discipline and establish a legacy that will be remembered at Cowan High School for years to come.

A 2026 Cowan graduate, Bradley concluded an extraordinary high school wrestling career with an impressive 148-10 record, four Indiana state tournament placements and a place in school history as the first Cowan wrestler to advance to an IHSAA state championship final. During his senior season, Bradley reached the championship match in the 157-pound weight class, ultimately finishing as the state runner-up. The accomplishment marked a historic milestone for Cowan’s wrestling program and capped years of dedication to the sport.

Bradley’s success extended beyond Indiana competition. He earned NHSCA All-American honors twice during his high school career and helped Cowan secure a third-place finish at the 2024 team state championship. His achievements placed him among the state’s accomplished high school wrestlers and earned him an opportunity to continue competing at the NCAA Division I level. Adding another meaningful dimension to Bradley’s journey is the role his father, Casey Bradley, has played in his development. As Cowan’s head wrestling coach, Casey helped guide his son throughout his high school career. Their shared experience brought together the unique relationship of father and son with the dedication and trust required between athlete and coach.

While Bradley’s athletic accomplishments are impressive, his commitment extended beyond the wrestling mat. He maintained A/B honor roll status throughout high school while also participating in Key Club and his church youth group, demonstrating an ability to balance athletics, academics and community involvement.

Now, Bradley is beginning an exciting new chapter at Purdue University, where he is a freshman majoring in kinesiology and a member of the Boilermakers wrestling program. Competing at the collegiate level presents new challenges and opportunities as he joins Purdue’s nationally ranked 2026 recruiting class.

The transition from high school standout to Division I student-athlete represents another important step in a journey shaped by years of hard work, consistency and perseverance.

Bradley’s accomplishments also reflect the strength of small-school athletic programs throughout Delaware County, where dedicated student-athletes, coaches and families work together to create opportunities for success at the highest levels of competition.

In recognition of his achievements, Bradley has been named one of Muncie Magazine’s inaugural 2025-26 Student-Athletes of the Year. He is receiving a $500 scholarship made possible through the partnership between IU Health and Muncie Magazine, which recognizes outstanding graduating seniors for their dedication, athletic achievements and character. As Bradley continues his academic and athletic career at Purdue, he carries with him more than an impressive wrestling record. He represents the determination, commitment and hometown pride that make local high school athletics worth celebrating.

Congratulations, Jackson, on an outstanding high school career and an exciting future ahead!
