For Andrea Kaiser, real estate has become less about transactions and more about relationships. As the owner and managing broker of Kaiser’s Sweet Home Realty in Greentown, Kaiser has built her business around a straightforward idea that clients deserve to feel informed, comfortable and known.
That approach comes naturally to someone with deep ties to North Central Indiana. A graduate of Eastern High School, Kaiser has lived and worked in the area for years and is active in the schools, church and communities of Howard and Miami counties. Her office, at 203 E. Main St. in Greentown, reflects that local connection. The company provides full-service real estate for buyers, sellers, investors and those looking for land or commercial property.
Kaiser did not begin her career in real estate. She worked as a surgical technician until a serious car accident resulting in spinal injuries made that work impossible. During a period of uncertainty about what came next, she returned to an idea she had considered since high school.
“I had wanted to do real estate right out of high school,” Kaiser says. “But I thought, let’s get the college going, get my degree going, and I went that route. After the accident, I really struggled with what that was going to look like. I love people, and sitting at home was not for me.”
She eventually opened her own brokerage after working in other offices, wanting to create a place where agents could receive mentorship while clients received more personal attention. The result is a boutique firm that Kaiser describes as a “little family,” with an emphasis on helping one another while providing individualized service.
That same philosophy extends beyond the office. Kaiser has helped organize community events in Greentown, including a Halloween celebration that grew from a small effort to a larger family-friendly event involving local businesses and the Greentown Main Street Association. She has also hosted Christmas in Greentown, bringing Santa, family photos, cookies, activities and a tree lighting to the downtown area.
“I really admire the people who are quietly doing things for this little community,” Kaiser says. “To be able to come alongside those individuals, it is really, truly an honor.”
Her community involvement is closely tied to the way she works with clients. Kaiser says she does not believe real estate questions should be confined to business hours. She stays available when clients need answers, whether they are preparing to buy their first home, selling a longtime property or considering an investment.
“We want them to be as educated as possible without feeling overwhelmed,” Kaiser says. “I jokingly say, but I do mean, we like to take the scary out of buying a house. There are risks in everything. But if we can educate you about what this process should look like, what your options are and what the payment looks like, then you can make a confident decision.” The company’s website emphasizes the same philosophy, describing its work as professional full-service real estate with a personal touch. Current listings span Greentown, Kokomo, Peru, Russiaville and surrounding communities, while the firm’s services include buying, selling and home valuation.
For Kaiser, the goal is not simply to close a deal. She wants clients to leave the experience knowing why they made the decisions they did and feeling comfortable enough to return years later.
“I want to earn, not buy, your trust,” Kaiser says. “Through hard work, that is really the legacy of good old-fashioned service and cutting-edge strategies.”
That may be the simplest description of Kaiser’s Sweet Home Realty. The business is built around real estate, but Kaiser has made familiarity, service and a genuine connection to the community part of the work as well.
