LFD Firefighters helping feed 500 families and assist throughout the year with clothing, etc. too.

atLawrence publisher interviews LFD Dino Batalis, in charge of this effort since 1988.

Volunteers of all ages showed up to help.

Peanut butter and jelly…a staple for many families.

Even Mayor Dean Jessup was there for an assist.

2 boxes of food for each family.

2 food boxes per family plus other items such as potatoes and milk.

Stuffed animals are also for choosing.

Each child gets an appropriate toy, perhaps the only one they’ll receive this Christmas.

Potatoes, milk, etc. gets added to the boxes.

Money is collected throughout the year for the $18,000 worth of food that is distributed to these families.
