Celebrating the 150th anniversary as a town, the Fortville Chamber of Commerce will be throwing a festival July 4 at Landmark Park from 4-11 p.m. The event, presented by Walker Insurance, will include activities for all ages.

“I am thrilled that the Chamber and the Town of Fortville are working together to bring the celebration of the Incorporation of the Town of Fortville to the annual Fourth of July fireworks,” said Executive Director Nancy Strickland.

After kicking off the day with a children’s parade at 4 p.m., food, crafts and games will fill Landmark Park. There will also be a croquet tournament, a car show and street dancing. At dusk (approximately 9:30 p.m.), patriotic fireworks will end the night. Free of admission cost, people of all ages are invited to come out and celebrate.

“I’m looking forward to the old fashioned kids games and seeing all the kids enjoying themselves in the park. I’m also looking forward to the parade and seeing all the fun the children will have riding their decorated bikes, scooters, pulling their wagons and walking in the parade,” said Strickland. “This will be a good, old fashioned fun in the park kind of day for everyone.”
