Where do you live in Franklin?
- I live in the downtown area.
Do you work in Franklin?
- Yes, I am a bartender/manager at The Willard. I’ve worked there with some of the best people I’ve ever met for over a decade. I enjoy doing it and love having the company of our great patrons. I make really good martinis and love putting a twist on the classic cocktails. My current favorite thing to make and indulge in is a Blackberry Kentucky Mule. It’s made with muddled basil and lemon, Blackberry Crown Royal (if in stock) and ginger beer. It has a really nice, herbal feel to it. Another favorite is an Absolut Limeade. It’s made with Absolut Lime, lime juice, watermelon liqueur and soda water. At home I like to add a little fresh rosemary to it. It’s very refreshing.
What is your first memory of being in Franklin?
- I was born here. As a child I always looked forward to summer break. I went to Kickapoo Kids Camp. At that time it was at the Boys & Girls Club. My friends and I were a little mischievous. We always had a good time walking to the pool and going on trips.
Where do you like to shop in Franklin and why?
- Toodleydoo toys – there’s always something for all my kids there. They have a very polite staff. I really miss shopping at the record store. Hopefully, one day Franklin will acquire another one.
Where do you like to eat in Franklin, and what do you order?
- I love the new menu at The Mint. They have a really good smash burger. I love their tequila Old Fashioned. 1823 Bakehouse has such an amazing variety of teas. I also love their quiche. Millie’s Ice Cream Co. has these delicious mini pancakes my kids love. Try the Honey Bear option! Last but not least, The Willard. The rib eye steak salad, breaded tenderloin, margherita pizza and chicken wings have always been go-tos for me.
What is your favorite thing to do for fun in Franklin?
- For family fun, we take advantage of the city’s great parks, especially the splash pad. The ideal date night would be to grab a cocktail and go see a movie on 35-millimeter film at The Artcraft.
What makes Franklin special to you?
- Our community makes me happy to live here and to raise my four children.
