The White River Chamber Orchestra and Wind Symphony have announced their 2026-27 4-concert series schedule. Each ensemble will present two concerts, with the season running from October 2026 to June 2027. Tickets are available at FisherMusicWorks.org. There are discounts for group tickets, and there are season tickets that include all four concerts at a significant 30% savings over individual tickets. Anyone under the age of 18 can always enjoy free tickets to all concerts, also available on the website.
The season opens on Saturday, October 3 (7:30 p.m.) with the White River Wind Symphony presenting Through Time and Space, a musical collage of songs about time (Syncopated Clock, Yesterday, Tomorrow, Dance of the Hours, etc.) and space (Jupiter, Blackstar Alpha, Orbital, Star Wars, etc.) Featured soloist will be Darlies Jones on flugelhorn for the Beatles’ Yesterday.
The second concert, on Sunday, December 6 (7:30 p.m.) will be the annual Christmas Extravaganza, presented by the White River Chamber Orchestra. As always, this concert will include a wide variety of Christmas and winter songs with arrangements that date from the 1950’s to the present. This year will be the first year to include arrangements of Ralph Carmichael, well known for a wide variety of musical compositions for all genres and in all styles, composed over a 70-year span. There will be the world premiere of a new arrangement by Katherine Peters, along with the performance of Maestro Kunda’s novelty setting of The 12 Days of Christmas (which commemorates the 50th anniversary of its writing). Also included will be music of Percy Faith, David Clydesdale, and others.
The third concert will also be presented by the Chamber Orchestra. An Evening with Haydn and Mozart is on the docket for Saturday, April 17 (7:30 p.m.), and it will feature the music of these two composers, who are universally recognized as the two masters of the classical era.
The season will conclude with the 11th annual Sounds of America concert on Sunday, June 27 (5:30 p.m.). This popular concert annually commemorates our country’s birthday and celebrates the musical arts with all American music from a wide variety of genres.
All concerts will be at Legacy Bible Church, 13490 Howe Road, Fishers. Both ensembles are under the direction of Dr. Keith Kunda. For more information contact him at MusicDirector@FishersMusicWorks.org.
