Judge Orders Save the Nickel Plate Group to Pay $72K for Frivolous Lawsuits
Hamilton County Circuit Court Judge David Najar released the court’s final order against Save the Nickel Plate, Inc. and its counsel, Brattain Minnix and Garcia, jointly and severally, for attorneys’ fees and costs incurred by the City of Fishers for the total amount of $72,367.50.
The court awarded the fees to the City of Fishers due to multiple frivolous lawsuits brought by Save the Nickel Plate. The City has since received confirmation that the law firm of Brattain Minnix and Garcia will pay the judgement in full.
“The City of Fishers is glad to see the burden of these frivolous and baseless lawsuits will not be held by the taxpayers of Fishers but instead by the representatives of Save the Nickel Plate and their legal counsel,” said Ashley Elrod, public relations director for the City of Fishers. “This reaffirms the lack of legitimacy of the lawsuits and claims made by Save the Nickel Plate.”
