Helix Advanced Medicine Center Grove’s New Era of Preventative, Personalized Care

After decades spent treating patients at various stages of chronic disease, Dr. Kevin Neese and Allison Snyder knew something had to change. They’d seen too many people reach a point where medicine could offer comfort but not reversal. So they built Helix Advanced Medicine—a practice designed to intervene earlier, dig deeper, and give patients the tools to protect their health long before problems take root. The practice, which opened in Center Grove this month, represents a bold shift toward proactive, longevity-focused care designed to help patients not just live longer, but live better.

Neese, a longtime Center Grove resident, has spent three decades practicing internal medicine, primary care, hospital medicine, and geriatrics. His nurse practitioner, Allison Snyder, has worked alongside him for more than a decade. Together, they’ve seen the full arc of chronic disease—from early warning signs to end-stage decline—and they’re determined to change the trajectory for the next generation.

“We’ve both spent the last 12 years in geriatrics,” Snyder says. “It’s discouraging to see patients at a stage where we can’t help them except keep them comfortable. So many chronic diseases are preventable, and that’s really where our heart is.”

Their inspiration to open Helix came partly from Outlive, the bestselling longevity book by Dr. Peter Attia. Attia describes Medicine 2.0 as treating illness once it appears. Medicine 3.0, however, focuses on predicting and preventing disease before it takes root. Helix blends both worlds: the reliability of conventional internal medicine with the innovation of personalized, preventative care.

Both Neese and Snyder feel deeply connected to Center Grove—a community that expects a high level of medical care.

“We live with these people. We see them in the grocery store and at church,” Neese says.

That sense of community is woven into Helix’s design: a smaller patient panel, longer visits, and a hybrid concierge model that blends insurance-based care with enhanced access. After years inside the “insurance mill,” where 8- to 15-minute appointments leave patients rushed and providers behind schedule, they wanted something different.

“No one likes that experience,” Neese says. “With concierge care, patients essentially buy time. We see fewer patients per day, which means they get real time with us.”

Patients also set the agenda alongside their provider. Plus, the staff includes a client coordinator who ensures tests, referrals, and next steps don’t fall through the cracks.

“When patients leave our office, they know exactly what they’re responsible for as well as the plan for their follow-up,” Neese says. “Everyone is on the same page.”

Their hybrid model allows patients to use insurance for traditional services while adding optional concierge packages for enhanced access and longevity planning.

Snyder describes their advanced longevity package as “a financial planner—but for your future health.” Patients undergo tests, labs, functional assessments, and genetic screenings. Helix then predicts how well they’ll be able to meet their retirement-age goals—whether that’s skiing, hiking, lifting luggage, or chasing grandkids—and builds a personalized plan to get them there.

“We can assess a patient’s current health level and give them a roadmap to help them meet those goals,” Snyder says. Helix offers in-office ultrasound, EKGs, pulmonary function testing, VO₂ max testing, and functional performance assessments. Instead of waiting days for referrals, patients can get answers in minutes.

“We can put an ultrasound probe on someone and show them their heart function, check a valve, look at their gallbladder, lungs, or bowels,” Neese says. “We can identify pneumonia or heart failure right in the office.”

This real-time testing supports Helix’s preventative mission—catching issues early and reducing delays. Genetic testing, cognitive screening, and dementia prevention are also central.

“People don’t realize that 45% of dementia can be prevented,” Neese says.

Helix uses genetic markers, metabolic labs, and validated cognitive testing—including the Montreal Cognitive Assessment—to detect early impairment. They also screen for reversible causes of cognitive decline, such as B12 deficiency, using more advanced testing than traditional clinics.

“Genetics is one layer we integrate into a patient’s entire health picture,” Neese says.

Many patients seek weight loss support, hormone therapy, and peptides. Helix’s medically supervised weight-loss program includes continuous glucose monitoring, advanced body-composition analysis, and personalized metabolic plans.

“Weight loss is foundational,” Snyder says. “It affects sleep apnea, diabetes, Alzheimer’s, cancer risk—everything.”

Their hormone replacement therapy program uses Biote-certified bioidentical pellets for men and women, offering stable, long-term hormone support without weekly injections. Years ago, the subject of hormone replacement therapy was practically taboo. Now, however, estrogen replacement has been shown to reduce invasive breast cancer and cognitive decline when started appropriately.

Helix Advanced Medicine isn’t trying to mimic a traditional clinic or become another wellness boutique.

The goal is to offer competent, conventional medicine elevated by time, access, and prevention—not a longevity kiosk in a strip mall. With physician-led care, deep expertise, and a commitment to growing alongside the community, Helix is here to build long-term relationships with Center Grove families.

“I’ve been doing this for 30 years, and I’m still learning,” Neese says. “We want to be a true partner in people’s health—and we want to grow with this community.”
