Pay It Forward Johnson County, an annual golf event that raises money for local non-profit organizations, will support a county-wide betterment initiative this year.
Proceeds from the fourth-year event and a silent auction will help fund Aspire Johnson County, as well as other local charities. The outing is scheduled for September 11 at The Legends Golf Club in Franklin.
“Aspire Johnson County is making a wide-ranging impact on our community,” said Erin Smith, event organizer. “The missions of Pay It Forward Johnson County and Aspire Johnson County match perfectly.”
Understanding that attracting new jobs and capital investment is highly competitive, the Johnson County Development Corporation, with financial support from the Johnson County Community Foundation, launched Aspire Johnson County last year to position Johnson County more competitively in the marketplace.
“Aspire Johnson County members – who include business, education, government, and non-profit sector representatives and community volunteers – have a collaborative vision to make Johnson County a destination to live, work and play,” Smith said.
Aspire Johnson County has been focusing on infrastructure development, quality of life assets, talent retention and attraction and community branding.
Other benefiting charity organizations will be chosen from applicants in a drawing on July 24.
Presenting sponsors are The Legends and Spotlight Strategies. Title sponsors are Hilliard Lyons, Home Bank, Pepsi and Ray Skillman Ford.
