Broad Ripple Magazine congratulates Dan Wakefield on being honored with a park bearing his namesake! The dedication ceremony was June 1. We thank Patrick Chastain for the splendid idea of renaming the park where Dan played as a child and served as the location for a scene in the book and movie, “Going All The Way.” Mayor Joe Hogsett, Senator Richard Lugar (a Shortridge classmate of Dan’s), Travis DiNicola, Will Higgins and others honored Dan at the ceremony. A special thanks to Indy Parks for this honor!
Like Dan, we are thrilled he’s still alive to enjoy it! =
