The Avon Marching Black and Gold was crowned at the culmination of the recent Indiana State School Music Association marching band state finals competition at Lucas Oil Stadium. This is the program’s 16th state championship.
“I could not be more excited, happy and proud of our directors, design team, staff, parents and, most importantly, our amazing students,” says Director Matt Harloff.
“The Avon Marching Black and Gold students and staff work so hard and are great representatives of our school district bringing pride to the entire Avon community,” says Scott Wyndham, Avon Community School Corporation superintendent. “I’m so proud of their success this year and their tradition of excellence.”
In addition to competing this fall and preparing for winter competitions, the Marching Black and Gold students, staff and supporters are already busy raising funds and preparing for their trip to New York City to perform in the 2024 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
