BoomBozz Pizza in Fishers was attracting positive attention before it even opened on August 9.

Brian Hall, the enthusiastic operating partner of BoomBozz Pizza Taphouse, also started the Carmel location in 2010 and believes the success of the Carmel spot helped ensure customers at the Fishers restaurant.

“We didn’t run an advertisement or have a website up, and we had a 45-minute wait on our first night,” Hall said.

He adheres to a recipe of success that helped him over the last several years.

We marinate the chicken. We come in at 7 a.m. every day and get busy. The majority of items are fresh and never frozen. We work hard to make people good food.”

Attention to detail has paid off for Hall. He recently won the 2016 World Pizza Championship at The International Pizza Expo in Las Vegas.

“You go through different divisions, and we won each round,” he explained. “I liked the non-traditional category, which means there are no rules. I love that, and it enabled us to win the title.”

He has won the 2016 World Pizza Championship twice and The American Pizza Championship twice. “I love doing things in a unique and fun way, and that has also helped me with BoomBozz.”

The name BoomBozz comes from Italian slang and means wild, crazy and fun.

Hall, a former casino manager in Las Vegas and Indiana, said he has a passion for food.

“I stress unique flavors with our Mediterranean and Fajita pizzas.”

Hall added that he also provides a good value at BoomBozz.

“We give you a gourmet experience for less than $20,” Hall said. “I tell people to bring the kids and spend less than $50.”

BoomBozz also offers $5 and $6 Social Hour values.

The $5 Social Plates include BoomBozz’s Famous Asiago Bread, Goat Cheese Marinara, Soft Pretzels, Hummus, Stuffed Portobello, Loaded Potato Nachos, Toasted Ravioli and Bruschetta.

The $6 Social Plate includes House Made “MeatBozz,” Award Winning Wings and Southern Fried Boneless Bites.

Daily drink specials are featured every Sunday through Thursday. “On Tuesdays, we feature a Craft beer for $2,” Hall said.

Beers on tap include a BoomBrew Collaboration Rotator, a Local Rotator, a Three Floyds Rotator, a Daredevil Lift Off, West Coast IPA, a Fountain Square Backyard Porter, a Tin Man Damascene, Apricot Sour, a Tin Man Rivet, Irish Red and a host of dozens of other drinks.

“I go to other cities to keep up-to-date on current trends,” Hall stated. “I’ll go to New York City or Washington, D.C., to experience new flavors and bring that flavor back here.”
