Petite PatisserieStarting a new business can be scary. However, when customers at a new business quickly become regulars, this bodes rather well for the establishment’s future.

Just ask Stephanie Massouda, owner of Petite Patisserie.

“I’ve been so pleased to have people in Kokomo tell me they love the food, and can’t wait to come back,” Massouda says. “I couldn’t ask for anything more. What a nice way to get things off the ground. People have been very nice and welcoming. Our winter months were very busy, and I was so glad to see people come in and support us.”

Massouda describes Petite Patisserie as a French bakery and cafe that offers fresh food and beverages, as well as custom-order desserts.

“Ever since we started in mid-January, we have had a lot of people come through the door,” Massouda says. “I wanted this to be a unique dining experience, and we have already had some menu items that have been really popular. Our chicken pesto sandwich has been a big hit, and our fresh juices and smoothies also get ordered a lot. I’ve received a lot of comments on those.”

Massouda says all the menu items and pastries have been popular because she strives for a high level of quality and freshness. Petite Patisserie

“We make everything fresh, in-house,” Massouda says. “We really stress that. It’s very high quality. We have several baked goods including cakes, artisanal breads, bars, bagels, tarts, wedding cakes and cupcakes. Our pastries have included cream puffs, éclairs and croissants. We also have delicious gelato. Our regulars and new customers have been very complimentary about all of our food.”

Petite Patisserie also serves a wide variety of sandwiches, crepes, soups and salads.

“Our hot sandwiches include the Caprese, with mozzarella, tomato, olive oil and balsamic,” Massouda says. “We also have a KokoMademoiselle sandwich with zucchini, bell pepper, onion and gruyère. Our soups include broccoli, cheddar, chicken gnocchi and other good soups. We have really received a lot of compliments on our salads, which include Caesar, house and a French salad, with lightly dressed greens, shaved carrots, onion and tomato.”

“I love our Chicken BLT with goat cheese, and our tomato soup,” she says. “Customers have also told me they really enjoy those as well.”

The coffee and teas have also been popular.

“We have a nice variety of coffee, espresso and teas,” Massouda says. “We are open for breakfast, brunch and lunch. Some of our customers have been in for both breakfast and lunch. I’m really looking forward to our spring menu. We are planning a lot of new, delicious items that I think our customers are really going to enjoy.”
