Medical Device Manufacturer Paragon Medical Seeking Employees
Writer / Lois Tomaszewski
One industry is synonymous with the economic success of the Warsaw area, and that is the manufacturing of orthopedic medical instruments. Paragon Medical is one of the companies that have built that industry, marking 25 years in the field.
Paragon Medical manufactures products and components for a global orthopedic market. This includes the development of new products that address changing regulations and needs of the medical market. These products range in size and sophistication, from tiny bone screws to endoscopic devices. Products designed and manufactured at the company include medical and surgical innovations, orthopedic products, robotics, and drug delivery systems.
Listed on the company’s website are 19 medical specialties that benefit from Paragon Medical’s services and products. These include cardiovascular, dental, gastroenterology, gynecology, neurology, oncology, urology and even wound management, among others.
Customers are provided with expertise and project management throughout the process, beginning with engineering and design, through the regulatory process dictated by industry and government regulations, followed by the manufacturing setup and commercialization.
According to Forrest Walter, Paragon Medical’s graphic specialist and part of the creative team, there is a philosophy put into practice when dealing with customers.
“At Paragon Medical business is all about relationships, not transactions,” Walter says. “It’s about developing long-term, strategic partnerships. It’s about being responsive and treating people right. Ultimately, you’ll experience the Paragon difference every time you talk with our team of highly trained technical sales and customer service representatives. They combine technology, innovation, and integrity to ensure that you receive excellent products and service.”
Walter says the Paragon Medical teams have the experience to make a difference.
“Our experts have decades of experience delivering a broad range of specialist components for demanding health-care applications,” Walter says. “We understand what it takes to ensure compliance with established and emerging regulations. We go the extra mile, helping engineers achieve their objectives in the most cost-effective, time-efficient way possible. We help our medical device partners commercialize their products. We like to say that no matter where you are in your product development process, we can help get you where you need to be. It could start with a simple sketch, or it could be an existing product looking for a more robust supply chain. We work with our client designs, suggesting changes that can lower costs and speed up production, without sacrificing functionality.”
Paragon Medical was established in 1991. Manufacturing of products began in 1996, and acquisitions since then have expanded the business locally, nationally and even internationally. The Warsaw operation began in 2006 with the purchase of the former Hand Industries. Today it is a division of MW Life Sciences based in Pierceton, Indiana.
All this product development and industry growth requires quality employees.
“Paragon Medical has a wide variety of exciting opportunities for anyone looking to start, continue, or grow their career in the medical device industry,” Walter explains. “With a strong emphasis on skilled trades and [computerized numerical control] manufacturing, we are looking for individuals that are excited to have the opportunity to train in-house and grow long-term with our company.”
In addition to manufacturing, the company has positions available in several areas including management, supply chain and human resources. Walter says wages have increased recently to be competitive with the market. The company’s benefits package offers medical, dental, and vision health benefits, 401(k) matching, and paid time off. Premiums are also offered for second and third shift positions. Access openings at ParagonMedical.com. Applicants should set up an account and check regularly. Job openings are updated daily.
“Our business is all about providing products, which aids in improved quality of life of others,” Walter says. “Passion, reliability, integrity, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team are all key attributes of success as an employee. Whether you have years of experience or you are participating in one of our co-op, internship, apprenticeship or trainee programs, an engaged mind and heart leads to lifelong career opportunities. Our employees understand that together we can make a difference, achieve our goals, and commonly understand that our success is not a measure of one. It’s the results of all.”
