Girls About Town: Take Me Out to the Ball Game

The “Girls About Town” hitched a ride with Bada Bing Limos to an Indians game with the family.

“People will come, Ray. They’ll come [to Victory Field] for reasons they can’t even fathom. And they’ll walk out to the bleachers; sit in shirtsleeves on a perfect afternoon. They’ll find they have reserved seats somewhere along one of the baselines, where they sat when they were children and cheered their heroes. And they’ll watch the game and it’ll be as if they dipped themselves in magic waters. (source: Field of Dreams)

If you want to visit our very own Field of Dreams, then head on over to Victory Field! Home of the Indianapolis Indians (Triple-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates), Victory Field is recognized as the “Best Minor League Ballpark in America.” Located in White River State Park, it’s our pick for some family fun.

Leading off, Bada Bing Limo provided transportation to the game for our families and friends in their party bus. There were 13 of us, and we were having so much fun that we could have stayed on the bus all night. We’re glad we didn’t, because the Indians game was too great of a night to miss!

Family and friends cruised in style in this party bus limo provided by Bada Bing Limos.

On deck, you’ll find family-friendly specials every day of the week when the Indians are in town. The Monday Dollar Menu specials (the night we attended) really hit it outta the ball park. Hot dogs, Cracker Jack, popcorn, Cape Cod chips, or peanuts are only $1 every Monday home game. And if you haven’t heard, they now take credit cards.

If you really want to “clean up,” try Thursdays for Value Night. With special package pricing starting at just $20 you’ll get a game ticket, a T-shirt, a hot dog, and all-you-can-drink soda.

Want to close out the week with a “W”? Come enjoy Indy’s downtown skyline from Victory Field on a Friday night, and start your weekend with a bang as you enjoy their awesome post-game fireworks!

Have a little Captain in you? Check out the new Captain Morgan Cove! Built in 2012, Captain Morgan Cove offers some of the best views of downtown Indy. Serving as Victory Field’s top destination for premium seating, the Captain Morgan Cove is located near the left field foul line. It holds up to 130 fans in a sixty-foot bar with pub tables, and includes tiered seating leading down to the field. In the cove, you’ll find a full-service bar, as well as good eats hot off the grill.

This All-American ballpark is more than just a family venue. The home of your Indianapolis Indians is the perfect spot for your next event. With 12 unique facility options, a full-service in-house catering team, easy onsite parking, and one of baseball’s most scenic environments, Victory Field offers a unique, memorable space that is sure to wow any crowd.

Victory Field has two great picnic areas to accommodate your group for either a pre-game or game time picnic. The Left Field Picnic Area is great for smaller groups of 50 or more, while the Coors Light Corner offers more exclusivity and customizable buffets for groups of 100 or more. Looking for a larger space for your event? Check out the Left Field Picnic Area! Tucked behind the ballpark’s northwest corner, the Left Field Picnic Area houses the quintessential picnic at the park. For reduced ticket prices, there’s the Ivy Tech Community College Lawn Seating Area. Fans are welcome to bring blankets and coolers into the area to enjoy the game in a more relaxed setting.

Whether you want a fun night out with friends, a great day with the family, or a unique experience for your next business event, you’ll find that Victory Field is the place for you!
