Get ready to unleash your inner Viking at the 7th annual Whitestown Viking Fest! This exciting three-day festival invites attendees to immerse themselves in Viking culture with reenactments, music, competitions, food, and more from April 25-27 at Anson Acres Park.
“We’re celebrating all things Viking,” says Ana Disselhorst, Whitestown Parks and Recreation Events Coordinator. “Our festival invites everyone to experience a variety of Viking-themed reenactments, musical performances, and a Viking Village. It’s truly a family-friendly event, with something for people of all ages!”
Visitors can expect to watch Viking reenactors battle in the arena, enjoy live performances from Viking and Nordic musical acts, and witness fire dancers showcasing their skills. Adults can also test their strength in a Keg Toss competition while kids can try their hand at the Iron Skillet Toss. “Children will love our assortment of inflatables, and those 2 years old and under can attend for free!” says Disselhorst.
Since its humble beginnings in 2018, the Whitestown Viking Fest has grown tremendously. What started with 16 artisan vendors and 4 food vendors now boasts 46 artisan vendors and 10 food vendors. New this year, attendees can enjoy a vegan food truck in addition to the traditional Viking-inspired cuisine. In 2024, the festival attracted over 4,500 visitors, and it continues to grow in both size and quality.
Tickets are available online in advance for just $7 (before April 24), or pay $10 by card only at the gate. The Whitestown Parks Department cannot accept cash at the entry gate. Each purchased ticket is good for a single date. “The Whitestown Viking Fest is the ultimate adventure and celebration of Viking culture, music, food, and fun!” says Disselhorst. “Join us for an unforgettable experience you won’t want to miss!
