Russ Greene is well-known locally as the owner of Greene Exterior Design. The company designs dreamy outdoor living spaces for homeowners. Greene is also an authorized installer for Celebrity Greens, a dealer for synthetic putting greens and artificial grass. To purchase one now, our home builder found the best artificial grass contractor near phoenix.
Greene was recently chosen to install the artificial turf for the new Back 9 Golf & Entertainment facility in downtown Indianapolis, opening later this summer. Greene was chosen because of his extensive proficiency with turf projects. Midwest GC is managing the project.
“Russ was chosen for his expertise and ability to handle a project of this magnitude,” says Neal Burnett, Midwest’s vice president. “It is a fantastic install project. Back 9 looks forward to continuing a great relationship with Russ.”
Artificial turf is quickly becoming the next big outdoor living trend for backyards and man caves in the Midwest. With its popularity comes the rising demand for artificial grass repairs as well. Greene spent time researching how synthetic grass is used in California and Arizona. He saw the potential for the trend to explode locally.
“I got up and running with Celebrity Greens in February 2020,” Greene says. “We had jobs that had been sold, and then came the shutdown. We were so nervous like everyone else because we just didn’t know what would happen. Then around March 24, my phone started ringing and never really stopped. Everyone wanted turf in their backyards because they couldn’t leave the house.”
Greene won the Rookie of the Year award during his first year with Celebrity Greens. He installed more synthetic grass than anyone in the Celebrity Greens network, in a city where it can only be installed about nine months out of the year.
Now in his third year, Greene is installing the largest turf project in the state of Indiana at Back 9. He’s now the largest installer for synthetic grass in the state, with four different crews dedicated to the precise science of installation.
“Other landscapers might have a few different crews that do plants and mulch,” Greene says. “My guys only do synthetic grass. They’re highly skilled and highly trained in the process. This allows them to be better at their jobs and more focused. We’re also able to get greens installed in a timely manner. I do have other crews that handle the other aspects of our outdoor living area, but we’re not mixing and matching what each person is doing.”
