Rich Texas flavor in a Western-inspired steakhouse.
Saltgrass Steak House just opened its second Indiana location and first in Central Indiana, bringing bold flavors, rustic décor, Southern hospitality and a casual dining experience to the Noblesville community.
Filling the space once occupied by Houlihan’s, Saltgrass Steak House is a welcome addition to the popular shopping and dining district of Hamilton Town Center.
“We’ve had our eye on Noblesville and the greater Indianapolis area as Saltgrass has expanded. Hamilton Town Center’s mix of shopping and dining makes it a great place to welcome local families, friends and visitors,” said Terry Turney, Senior Vice President and COO of Saltgrass Steak House.
Not only does Saltgrass Steak House embody the essence of a great steakhouse, but its casual atmosphere and Texas-inspired dishes made in its scratch kitchen make this restaurant a great new place to dine in Hamilton County.
“We take pride in our scratch kitchen, where we make our soups, sauces, salad dressings and desserts in-house. Our Angus beef steaks are at the heart of the menu, complemented by friendly, knowledgeable service. At our Noblesville restaurant, we want guests to feel welcome, whether they’re stopping in for a casual dinner or celebrating a special occasion,” Turney said.
At Saltgrass Steak House, its pledge to customers is to “honor the old legends while making a little history of our own,” which means creating a one-of-a-kind dining experience where the menu showcases signature dishes built from a legacy and tradition.
“Much of our menu dates back to 1991, when Saltgrass was developed as a simple ‘meat and potatoes’ kind of place with big flavors. That spirit continues today with Angus beef steaks chargrilled over an open flame, seasoned with our signature Saltgrass 7-Steak Spice and topped with fresh garlic butter. For first-time guests, we recommend Range Rattlers, Signature Steak and Shrimp, or Country Fried Steak, and a homemade dessert,” Turney said.
The Saltgrass Steak House menu is unique, highlighting signature dishes of steaks, chicken and seafood, grilled and seasoned to perfection, and blending big flavors and seasonings with the essence of a cowboy campfire. The Certified Angus Beef steaks at Saltgrass Steak House feature premium cuts of porterhouse, prime rib, ribeye, T-bone, New York strip, filet and top sirloin that are grilled to be juicy and full of mouthwatering flavor. Each steak is topped with fresh garlic butter and perfectly seasoned with the original Saltgrass 7-Steak Spice, a rich flavor blend that highlights the flavor of the steak. There are also options to smother your steak with additional toppings like the Urban Cowboy topping, which includes grilled shrimp, lemon butter and green onions, or the Oscar Topping of lump crab meat, lemon butter, red pepper flakes, green onions and fried asparagus.
Other popular Saltgrass Steak House menu favorites are signature dishes of Chicken Fried Steak, Prime Pork Chops, chopped steak, Chicken Laredo, Salmon Oscar, Shiner Bock Fish and Chips, and slow-cooked, fall-off-the-bone BBQ Baby Back Ribs. The menu also includes burgers, fresh salads and homemade soups. The restaurant is kid-friendly and offers a kids menu.
Start your meal at Saltgrass Steak House by enjoying one of the signature appetizers, including tenderloin bites, fried mozzarella, bourbon-glazed bacon, cheese fries or queso fresco with brisket, or enjoy some of the complimentary, freshly made in-house Shiner Bock Beer Bread. Don’t forget to save room for dessert and enjoy a slice of cheesecake, carrot cake or chocolate cake.
Saltgrass Steak House features a full bar with specialty cocktails, including expertly crafted drinks like Midnight Rider, Lucky Penny, Sidecar, Ranch Water, Watermelon Fresca, Grilled Pineapple Margarita, Tropical Sangria, Desert Bloom and Tito’s Texas Tea. The full bar also features a stocked selection of tequila, mezcal, whiskey, bourbon, gin, vodka, rum, scotch, cognacs and liqueurs, as well as wine and beer options.
Saltgrass Steak House also has a happy hour menu available in the No Bull Lounge. Weekdays from 4 to 7 p.m., guests can enjoy discounted $4 domestic and $5 craft and imported beers, $4 house margaritas on the rocks and well mixed drinks, along with wine and signature drink deals and special prices on popular appetizers like $10 Range Rattlers, which are jumbo fried jalapeños stuffed with whole shrimp and Jack cheese.
“Our signature Saltgrass 7-Steak Spice gives our steaks a distinctive flavor, and our scratch kitchen brings that same attention to our breads, soups, sauces, dressings and desserts. An extensive wine list and signature cocktails round out the meal. We pair it all with friendly service and a comfortable atmosphere that makes any occasion feel welcome,” Turney said.
The name “Saltgrass” is an homage to its Lone Star State-inspired roots, steeped in a heritage dating back to the 1800s, when millions of longhorns grazed throughout the state and migrated in the winter to the Texas Gulf Coast to feed on the rich coastal salt grass. When it was time for the cattle to head to market, they made the journey along the Salt Grass Trail, creating a reputation for producing some of the best beef in Texas.
In 1952, to publicize the opening of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, four men retraced the Salt Grass Trail ride that pioneer cattlemen and cowboys once took. Now, the historic trail ride is part of an annual celebration that thousands of people recreate to experience the Old West. Staying true to its roots, the first Saltgrass Steak House is located along this historic trail.
“Our name comes from the historic Saltgrass Trail, and that Texas heritage carries through to our rustic cowboy décor, warm wood accents and ranch-inspired details. Our open-flame cooking and campfire-inspired dishes bring those roots to the menu. Just as important is genuine hospitality, making guests feel comfortable and welcome from the moment they arrive,” Turney said.
Saltgrass Steak House transports you to the Lone Star State. With ambient lighting from decorative light fixtures, warm red paint accents, star-decaled chairs and comfortable leather seating, mounted cattle and deer heads, rustic Western décor elements adorned with rope lassos, wagon wheels, wall art filled with character and, of course, the iconic longhorns, the restaurant creates the perfect aesthetic of a casual and inviting steakhouse.
“Saltgrass is casual, welcoming and energetic, where friends and families can relax over a great meal. Western-inspired décor and warm lighting create an inviting setting, while our friendly, knowledgeable team helps guests feel at home, whether it’s their first visit or their 50th,” Turney said.
Saltgrass Steak House is located at 14065 Town Center Blvd. at Hamilton Town Center and is open Monday through Thursday from 4-9 p.m., Friday from 4-10 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m.-9 p.m.
