Opening in the next few months, the Spice and Tea Exchange will be devoted to enriching Noblesville with a more flavorful life. Owners Kelly Hexamer, along with her husband, Justin, and sons, Logan and Miles, are all involved in bringing the Spice and Tea Exchange — a sensory-engaging shopping experience — to the heart of Noblesville.
When open, the Noblesville Spice and Tea Exchange will carry only the freshest products, including 100 spices, herbs and seasoning blends — many of which will be hand-blended in-store — 80 loose-leaf teas and specialty items featuring flavored and infused salts and sugars, raw natural and infused honeys, olive oils, maple syrup, candles, tea accessories and a tea bar serving hot or iced teas to go.
“You’ll smell the aromas of fresh spices and teas, see beautiful, vibrant displays and have opportunities to taste and sample products. We want people to feel welcome to explore and ask questions. Our team will be there to guide you, offer tips and share ideas. Whether you’re building a gift basket, trying a new tea or learning how to cook with new spices, we want our guests to leave inspired and excited to come back,” Kelly Hexamer said.
Having no prior knowledge or experience with the Spice and Tea Exchange, Kelly — who always had a passion for food and cooking — stepped into a franchised location in Knoxville, Tennessee, while on vacation and instantly became enthralled by the store’s healthy options and fresh ingredients.
“We had no idea that stepping into that store would change our lives. I immediately fell in love with everything about it — the atmosphere, the aromas, the products. I’ve heard people talk about experiences where they just knew something was meant for them. That’s how this journey has felt for our family,” Kelly said.
One year later, the Hexamers are constructing their own Spice and Tea Exchange location, set to open in late summer or early fall. As a family venture, they have worked together to overcome the obstacles and logistics of owning and operating a franchise business while sharing in the excitement of watching it come together.
“Knowing we’re building something that will bring people together and promote healthier living is really rewarding,” Kelly said.
Settling on Noblesville as a location made sense for Kelly and her family, who also call the city home.
“Noblesville has such a vibrant and supportive downtown and a strong sense of community. We’ve seen how much people here value local businesses and love coming downtown to shop, eat and just enjoy the city. It just felt like it was the perfect fit for this type of store,” she said.
To the Hexamers, the Spice and Tea Exchange is more than a store — it’s an opportunity to become part of the thriving downtown community. With a mission of “creating and sharing the experience of a more flavorful life,” the Spice and Tea Exchange of Noblesville plans to immerse itself in the community by engaging in events and festivals, building relationships with other local businesses and creating an in-store space for people to come together and learn through workshops, tastings and more.
The Spice and Tea Exchange of Noblesville will be located at 950 Logan St. Follow them on Facebook and Instagram for updates about the store opening and more.
