“Light Their Future” Celebration Helps Lawrence Township Students “Go Places”

On Friday, February 27, 2015 over 600 guests will join together at The Crane Bay in Indianapolis for the 15th annual “Light Their Future” Celebration benefiting the Lawrence Township School Foundation.  With the theme “Oh, the Places They’ll Go”, the evening’s festivities include dining, dancing, fabulous silent auction, and opportunities to impact the school community.  The Honorary Chairperson is Indian Creek Elementary School Principal Connie Thomas.

The money raised will support the Foundation’s major funding priorities: tutors in the high schools, middle schools and online, mentors for first generational college bound students in the middle and high schools, health and wellness education in the early learning centers and elementary schools, field trips and music education in the elementary schools and creative impact grants for teachers at all of the schools.  “It is always energizing when the community comes together in support of our schools” Foundation Executive Director Cori Korn stated. “This Celebration is the power of community in action” she continued.

Barb Austin, Volunteer Celebration Director, explains “The Celebration’s theme has allowed us to underscore the needs the school district has in order to prepare and encourage students to “go places” after they graduate.  We can also showcase the success stories of alumni who have “gone places” after graduation.  So, guests from all twenty-one schools and from the community will come together on one night for one cause.  That’s the power of community.”

The event is made possible by many sponsors and donors including Simon Property Group, The Bridge Fund, Cannon IV Incorporated, Community Health Network, CSO Architects, Ice Miller, Katz, Sapper, & Miller, Pepper Construction, Wells Fargo, and Cohron Manufactured Homes.  Tickets are $90 per person.  For tickets, sponsorship, donations, and volunteer opportunities, please call LTSF at 317-423-8300 or purchase tickets on-line atwww.msdltf.org.  Registration deadline is February 13.
