The new school year has commenced at Hamilton Southeastern High School. A new senior class, full of energy and swagger, is leading the way while another rookie crop of freshmen wander a bit in the early days of their four-year journey.

It will be another exciting year influenced in a meaningful way by the upcoming contributions of our nearly 900 student athletes who will take the field or court this year. These leaders are destined to show they are among the best, whether competing on the field or elevating school spirit to a resounding roar.

20183266128_5abafe142d_oHSE has a proud tradition of athletics. Wearing Royals on your jersey means something special to our athletes. It means they have worked and earned something special, and they take great pride in challenging themselves while representing their school and community. Our competitors and their coaches pursue winning with vigor, but win or lose, valuable life lessons are forever forged in the athletes’ minds.

High school athletics provide our young people with many learning moments including learning from mistakes, accept challenges, face adversity, work as a team, win with dignity, lose with class and pursue excellence.

Shouldn’t we support the pursuit of excellence? That is clearly one of the missions of the Royals Varsity Club (RVC). The RVC is the nonprofit support organization that was insightfully created in 2010-11 by a group of parents and HSE’s Administration who wanted to assure that HSE’s legacy as a ‘school that cares’ never waned.

Athletics is such an important part of our school and community fabric. It is essential that our athletes fully grasp that their success matters. The RVC took on the charge to be the support engine of HSE Athletics to help our athletes train and battle at the highest levels possible as they prepared to be their best.

The RVC has provided over $100,000 in funding in support of all of HSE’s athletes. New weight room equipment, updating the cardio/rehab room, a new Gator for our trainers and portable AED machines are all enhancements that the RVC supported.20086098802_44832953bd_o

Annually, one senior boy and girl athlete is awarded a college scholarship. RVC 온라인 슬롯 also administers the RAIN (Royal Athletes In Need) fund to help families enduring financial hardships defray the cost of athletic participation. These are just a few of the initiatives that RVC administers and supports in the effort to keep HSE’s athletic programs vibrant and successful.

RVC has two primary funding mechanisms – memberships and fundraising. Please consider renewing your 2015-16 RVC membership or becoming a new member. There are some wonderful perks for joining the RVC, the most compelling of which is the satisfaction of seeing our athletes, coaches and fans enjoy continued success.

Also, please make plans to join our Black and Blue Bash on November 14. This annual fundraiser is always a great night for the HSE family to celebrate our young competitors’ many accomplishments. RVC membership information and additional information about the Royals Varsity Club can be found at royalsvarsityclub.org.

Excellence has a price. Our athletes pay it daily. Shouldn’t we support all that is good about high school athletics? Please take that first step and join the RVC. Go Royals!
